Monroe Township, Pennsylvania (September 23, 2018)  – A volunteer firefighter was struck and injured by a vehicle while directing traffic at an intersection in Monroe Township on Friday morning. According to the authorities, the incident took place at about 6:35 a.m. Friday, September 21 on Routes 29 and 309. The authorities said firefighters responded to a single-vehicle accident in which a vehicle crashed into a mailbox, a street sign and a stop sign at the intersection. Volunteer firefighter Edward Nulton, 62, of Monroe Township, was directing traffic as police worked at the scene when he was hit by a truck , driven northbound on Route 309 by Jack C. Husband, 46, of Harveys Lake. Nulton sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Geisinger Hospital for treatment. The State Police are investigating the crash. Man Injured in Chester County Hit-and-Run Crash on Route 724 Chester County, Pennsylvania (September 23, 2018)  – A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run accident in Chester County Sunday morning, authorities said. The accident occurred at about 8:30 a.m. in front of the Bellwood Country Club on Route 724. According to North Coventry Township police, the 20-year-old man was walking eastbound on the south side of the roadway when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle. The vehicle then continued to travel eastbound after hitting the man. The unidentified man was taken to Pottstown Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The car may have sustained damage to the right side, police said. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.  Anybody with information regarding the Hit-and-Run is urged to call the North Coventry Township Police Department.
